How does the Truemed process work at checkout?

Add your eligible health and wellness items to your cart. Select Truemed as your payment option at checkout. (Note: If you are logged into Shop Pay, you will need to log out and check out as a guest to see the Truemed option). Complete a quick, secure clinical intake form. An independent, licensed clinician will review your health information. If qualified, your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) will be automatically generated, and you can pay directly using your HSA/FSA card.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and do I need one?

The IRS requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) to prove that a health or wellness purchase is being used to prevent or treat a specific health condition. Truemed’s independent network of clinicians handles this assessment seamlessly during checkout. If approved, your LMN is valid for 12 months for any future qualified GIBBON purchases.

Can I split my payment between my HSA/FSA card and a regular credit card?

Yes! Truemed offers a Split Pay feature at checkout. This allows you to split the cost if your HSA/FSA card balance is too low to cover the full order, or if your cart contains a mix of eligible and ineligible items.

What happens if I am not approved by the clinician?
