Is the SlackBoard safe?

The SlackBoard is easy to use and safe! Its shape and material create a loose bouncing effect, allowing you to do dynamic moves and tricks while it is easy on your joints. 

The stable, low-profile design with a unique line system keeps you low to the ground and allows you more control during balancing. With no wobbling or moving parts, it is safe for beginners or the advanced and accessible to all age groups.

What is the weight limit on the SlackBoard? 

The SlackBoard can support users up to 180 kg (approximately 400 lb).

What is included in my SlackBoard Order?

Your SlackBoard comes fully assembled in the box. The components include the SlackBoard, line, roll & lock dowels and tensioning rod.

Is there any setup required?

Your SlackBoard will arrive completely assembled; no tools are required!

What is the warranty?

We offer a 2-year warranty on all SlackBoards which covers manufacturing defects. 

What is the difference in designs and price?

The only difference in the Original SlackBoards on our site is the design. You can expect the same materials, quality and size across all SlackBoard designs. Pricing may be subject to availability, inventory or special editions. The Plus and Pro models also add the ability to have a two line or one line setup adding to the versatility of your SlackBoard.   

What is the difference between the SlackBoard and the SlackBoard Plus? Which board is best for me?

The Original SlackBoard features one pre-installed line, perfect for anyone looking to improve stability and coordination. The SlackBoard Plus builds on the original, but offers more versatility with the ability to convert between a two-line and a one-line setup. It comes with two lines pre-installed for extra support for beginners, kids or rehab.

Do you ship internationally?

When my order is delivered, will I have to pay any additional tax or duties?

Your order will be shipped Delivered Duty-Paid (DDP). That means you won't face any surprise fees upon receipt of your order - it's all done up front. 

How long does it take to arrive?

We ship from San Diego, California USA with all import duties included in your purchase. Transit times will very but most orders are shipped within 3 business days and are expected to arrive within 14 business days or less. As soon as your order ships you will receive an email with tracking information.

Can I exchange my SlackBoard for a different design?

We do not offer exchanges or returns more than 14 days after delivery, and we do not offer exchanges for different designs. Please make sure to double-check your order before completion. 

My SlackBoard Does Not Lay Flat. Is That Okay?

How do I file a warranty claim?

Please email us at info@gibbonshop.co.uk for any warranty issues, including your order number, a description of the issue and any photo documentation of the issue. Our team will work with you to get this resolved as quickly as possible. 

My package is noted as delivered but it did not arrive.

If your tracking information states your order has been delivered but you have not received your package please check the tracking link via FedEx on a non-mobile device to review the proof of delivery photo, and contact FedEx. If you have already contacted FedEx about the issue please contact us at info@gibbonshop.co.uk and make sure to include your order number so our team can assist you with this issue along with any case number provided by FedEx. We will work with you and FedEx directly to get this resolved. 

Do you ever sell Imperfect SlackBoard or SlackBoard Plus at a discount?

We do not offer factory seconds, blemished boards, or returned boards for sale in the UK. 

How do I purchase an additional line?

SlackBoard lines are made to last the life of your SlackBoard (and then some) so it is unlikely you will need to replace your line, but we understand accidents happen. Or, you may decide you'd like a different color line. If you do need to replace your line, you can find replacement lines on our site under Accessories. 

Do you offer an affiliate program?

We do not offer an affiliate program in the UK at this time. 

When will you have new designs?

We release new designs throughout the year including special editions, collaborations and limited edition boards. The best way to stay in the know is by signing up for the GIBBON newsletter 

How do I get a discount?

We offer sales on our site without any need for a discount code throughout the year but for even more savings, sign up for our newsletter for exclusive offers. 

Does the stand ship with a SlackBoard?

Yes, if you order a stand and SlackBoard together, they will ship in the same box. If you don’t see your stand immediately, please make sure to check the bottom of the box because they can get lost in the box. 

Does the pole ship with the SlackBoard?

No. The pole is too long to ship with the SlackBoard, it will ship separately.

Can I use the Classic Slackrack line on the Fitness Slackrack (or vise-versa)?

Yes. You can use the Classic Slackrack line on the Slackrack Fitness base if you are looking to have a feel which more closely resembles outdoor slacklining as the width is the same on both lines.

The Slackrack Fitness and Slackrack Classic are very similar but the main difference with the Fitness version is the line itself and the included accessories. The Fitness line is thinner and generates more vibration which is great for balance training feedback.

What is the difference between Slackracks?

Both products are similar in design but the main difference is that the Slackrack Fitness uses a thinner line which allows for more vibration or “feedback” which is great for balance training. The Slackrack Fitness also includes a number of accessories not available with the Classic. If you are looking for more of a traditional slackline feel, the Slackrack Classic is your best bet and is great for families as well! 

Can the Slackrack be used outdoors as well as indoors?

Yes, you can use the Slackrack Classic or Slackrack Fitness indoors and outdoors but please keep in mind that weather conditions and UV can deteriorate the materials on your Slackrack. We do not recommend leaving your Slackrack outdoors for extended periods of time. 

How Do I Slackline? 

When learning how to slackline, the first step is to learn how to balance on the slackline on one foot. To do that, the key is to train to stand on one leg, keeping your back straight, your arms in the air, and breathing deeply. Once you are able to stand in one place comfortably on both your right and left leg, then you can start taking your first steps. The key is to keep your core strong and hips stable and use your shoulders to make adjustments.

In the beginning, your leg will be shaking a lot, it is normal. Because of the instability of the surface below your foot, your muscles get over-tense. Breathing deeply, keeping your knee softly bent and practicing will enable you to quiet your standing leg. Just like learning how to ride a bike, it will take some time in the beginning, but will quickly turn into a fun and challenging activity! Everybody can balance on a slackline! It just takes time.  

Is it better to slackline barefoot or with shoes?

This is all a matter of preference. There is no right or wrong with regard to footwear. We do not feel one way is easier or better than the other. If you do choose to use shoes, we recommend a flat rubber sole, never use a slackline wearing heels or a lugged sole. 

Is Slacklining Dangerous?

Just like any other sport, there are risks involved and you should start within your ability and with the slackline short and low to the ground. By setting your slackline low from the ground and with a short length, you can safely learn how to balance. Your setup will evolve the more you progress and after time you may feel you can both extend your line and increase the height from the ground to increase the challenge. 

How do I wash my slackline?

You can wash your GIBBON slackline using cold water and very little detergent. We recommend natural soap. Any metal parts including the ratchet should never be washed or put in contact with water. 

Can I do tricks on any line? 

Yes, you can perform most tricks and poses on any GIBBON slackline. If you are looking to get more performance out of your slackline, we recommend getting a GIBBON slackline with more dynamic features such as the GIBBON Jibline or Surferline.

Can I leave my slackline set up all year in all weather conditions?

We do not recommend leaving your GIBBON slackline set up when not in use, as it will reduce the performance of the webbing over time and can adversely impact the tree you have it attached to.

Where can I buy spare parts / webbings only / extra ratchets?

Currently we do not offer spare SlackLine or SlackRack parts in the UK. But, check back with our site often as we plan to offer them soon. 

I can't open my ratchet, what should I do?

Please check if the ratchet was set up correctly and if the webbing is blocking the natural movement of the ratchet lever. Always keep hands and fingers out of any areas of the ratchet that have moving parts, as this may result in injury. Try using a screwdriver to lever open any blocked part until normal detensioning can be applied.

Can I tension my GIBBON Classic Line with two ratchets?

As all GIBBON Classic sets have a loop for using with a girth hitch around trees, you will not be able to use a second ratchet with this set. You can, however, exchange the existing ratchet with the band for a GIBBON Power Ratchet and band sling.

Which GIBBON slacklines can be used with the Power ratchet?

The Power Ratchet is only compatible with GIBBON 2” webbing. 

How much tension can I put on my slackline?

We recommend not putting more than 100 lbs of tension on sets for beginners. Generally, it is sufficient to set the line at a tension that causes it to vibrate when flicked with your finger. 

What is the weight limit for the slackline?

Our slacklines are rated from 3000-6000 lbs depending on the model. However, we do not recommend to us the line with more than one person at a time, and not to exceed 250 lbs in total weight. The Gibbon Independence Kits have a maximum weight of 240 lbs. 

Where can I find the user manual?

The user manual can be found in all product packaging, on our website, or alternatively on the GIBBON Slackapp. 

What is the minimum age for using a GIBBON Slackline?

Slacklining is for all ages, but we do recommend kids below the age of 12 to not use any GIBBON slackline without support and supervision.

My GIBBON Slackline is damaged after excessive / wrong use, can I still continue using it?

We do not recommend using your GIBBON slackline if there is any noticeable damage to the webbing, the ratchet, or any other part of the system.

My ratchet started developing rust, why?

All metal parts are prone to developing rust if not kept dry and out of any weather conditions. In order to avoid this, please keep your ratchet dry and clean, and ideally treat it with synthetic lubricant periodically.

Can I oil my ratchet?

Yes, we recommend using synthetic oil periodically on your ratchet to keep the system functioning properly and to help avoid corrosion or build up from dirt and debris. 

The drum/wheel on my GIBBON slackline ratchet is full and I can't move the ratchet lever any further – what am I doing wrong?

The drum on the ratchet is only designed to take about 2–3 rotations. Please review the user manual included in your box, on our site, or via the GIBBON app. Your ratchet may become full before the line is tensioned due to improper setup and not pre-tensioning the line prior to starting the ratcheting process.  

When do I need to use a GIBBON Slow Release system?

The GIBBON Slow Release enables a slow releasing of the tension of set up slacklines. The opening of the ratchet lever is no longer needed, which results in no abrasion of the slackline, and no damage to the ratchet. This is commonly used for high tension or longer line setups. 

Which slackline is best suited for beginners?

The GIBBON Classic or Flo Line are best suited for users new to the slackline world.  

Is there a difference between the lines or just designs?

Yes, the different sets generally vary by design and by performance. There are different webbings, different widths, and different lengths. The main characteristic that changes from one line to another is the elasticity of the line. Depending on your use and experience you may find one line will allow better performance than another. 

How long should the slackline be?

The slackline can be rigged to a maximum length of the set as listed on the product page, minus the circumference of both anchor points (usually trees). We do offer various lengths and webbings. You may find a shorter line to be easier when beginning to slackline. 

At what height should I set up my slackline?

The ideal height for any slackline is always below the hip height of the user, but high enough to avoid touching the ground with the slackline when in use. 

Is there a minimum distance the GIBBON Independence Kit can be set up at? How much weight can the system take?

For entry-level slackliners, we recommend setting the ground screws at a distance of 7.5–9 metres. The length can be adjusted using the SlackFrames with the slackline not under full tension. The SlackFrames can also be used to set up the slackline at three different heights. When installed correctly, the ground screws are rated to a strength of 1,814 kg. The maximum weight of any user is 109 kg.

What should I do if there is only one tree or I have no fix points to use when setting up my GIBBON slackline?

In this case, we recommend getting the GIBBON Independence Kit if you have no anchor points, or buying a ground screw and SlackFrame if you only have one tree available to use as an anchor point. Once installed, it can be set up at no time and offer several set-up possibilities with only one anchor point. 

What are the heights that the GIBBON Independence Kit can be set up at?

The GIBBON Independence Kit can be set up at heights of 11.8” (30 cm), 19.6” (50 cm), or 27.5” (70 cm).

Why do I need tree protection?

Tree Protection is always useful and recommended. When using any trees as fix points, the GIBBON Treewear helps to avoid abrasion and unnecessary damage to the webbing of your slackline. If the treewear is too short to go around the tree, it is important to place it in the front,facing the direction of the line. In fact, the tension is higher in the front of the tree where the sides of the slackline are, rather than the back of the tree.

How to set up a slackline without trees?

You can install a slackline without trees using the Independence Kit or alternatively, the Slackrack.
